Information and support relating to NDIS Specialist Disability Accommodation for participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is NDIS funding for the physical dwelling when a participant has extreme functional impairment or very high support needs requiring specialist housing design features. SDA funding is separate from the supports provided within the home (such as SIL).
Able Aide assists eligible participants and their support teams to understand SDA pathways, coordinate with housing providers, and align accommodation with SIL and other supports.
Understand SDA eligibility, design categories, and how SDA fits within your overall NDIS plan.
Liaise with SDA providers and developers to find suitable dwellings in accessible locations.
Ensure SIL and other supports are coordinated with your SDA housing arrangement.
Plan moves into SDA dwellings with minimal disruption to routines and existing supports.
Confirm SDA funding, design category, and location preferences in your plan.
Work with SDA providers to identify suitable vacancies or development options.
Align SIL, core supports, and coordination with the chosen dwelling.
Support the transition into your SDA home with coordinated provider handovers.
