About this service

Individualised Living Options (ILO) is an NDIS support that helps participants explore and design living arrangements that suit their preferences, goals, and support needs. Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, ILO considers creative combinations of formal and informal supports to achieve sustainable independent living.

Able Aide supports participants through ILO exploration stages — from understanding options to implementing a tailored living and support arrangement.

How Individualised Living Options (ILO) supports you

  • Flexible living pathways

Explore options beyond traditional group homes — including co-residency, host arrangements, and tailored support packages.

  • Person-led design

Your preferences, relationships, and community connections shape the living option we develop together.

  • Stage-based approach

ILO follows NDIS stages — exploration and design, then implementation — with clear milestones at each step.

  • Integrated support planning

Living options are designed alongside your broader NDIS supports including SIL, core supports, and coordination.

Frequently asked questions

Is ILO the same as SIL?
No. ILO is a process for exploring and designing living arrangements. SIL is ongoing funding for support workers in a home. ILO may lead to SIL or other support arrangements as part of the chosen living option.
